Today’s fast-paced world is filled with countless methods of communication:  text messages, Facebook, email, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and a myriad more.  With all these ways to communicate, and because a large majority of people are within arm’s reach of their smartphones at all times, we’ve come to expect immediate responses – but is that always realistic?

You should rarely expect your massage therapist to answer when you call, but that’s a good thing!  Why?  Because that usually means one of 3 things:

  • they’re currently in a session, focused on that client’s needs
  • they’re thoroughly cleaning and prepping the massage room
  • it’s outside of their business hours

An excellent massage therapist will never leave a session to accept a non-emergent phone call because they want their full attention to be focused on the needs of the client who is laying on their table.  While it may be inconvenient to wait for a return call, be assured that your session won’t be interrupted, either. Just leave a message and your therapist is sure to get back to you as soon as they can.

Here’s the #1 reason you don’t want to talk to your massage therapist immediately:  they’re GOOD.  When your therapist is good, it means they have the knowledge and skills to provide excellent results.  It also means they’re probably in high demand.  That’s the therapist you want!

When you find a great massage therapist, be prepared to wait a few hours for a return call or a reply to your message.  Also be prepared to schedule your session weeks in advance. Most places including Fusion Therapy have convenient online scheduling as well, but if you prefer the good old fashioned phone conversation I’ll be happy to give you a call.
